Arecanut Plant is not an indigenous plant to India. Generally speaking, it is said to be native to Malaysia or the Philippines, where it is produced in a wide variety. It is a tropical crop that is grown in Bangladesh, China, Sri Lanka, and Malaya, as well as from the West Indies to the East Coast of Africa.
